Who We Are:
Big Sandy Health Care, Inc. (BSHC) is a non-profit organization which operates four community health center sites and a dental clinic in southeastern Kentucky.
Family Medicine Physician - We are seeking a full-time candidate for our Community Health Center which is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Staff includes more than 90 employees, including 8 physicians, 3 ARNPs, 2 certified physician assistants, 2 dentists, 3 pharmacists, 1 psychologist, 1 LCSW, 1 certified nurse midwife and various support staff.
Pediatrician - We are seeking Pediatrician candidates. Hours of Operation: Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 11 paid holidays. Requirements include current licensure in Kentucky; completion of a residency in pediatrics and board certified or board eligible.
OB/GYN Physician - We are seeking a full-time candidate for Physicians for Women Center, a comprehensive women’s health care facility in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. The Center is a subsidiary of Big Sandy Health Care, Inc. (BSHC)
Physicians for Women Center is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Staff includes 2 fulltime OB/GYN physicians, 1 certified nurse midwife, 1 certified physician assistant, 2 RNs, 3 LPNs, 1 ultrasound technologist and 8 additional support staff. Services include comprehensive OB/GYN services, family planning, health education services, prenatal care, on-site lab testing and 4-D ultrasound. Average center volume is approximately 73 encounters per day, including about 60 patients seen in the clinic and the remaining number in the hospital. Physicians have hospital privileges at nearby Highlands Regional Medical Center.
Qualifications for all Physicians: Kentucky medical license, hospital practice experience and recommendations of the Credentialing Committee of BSHC. Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of these positions. Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the organization.
