STAFF NURSE IV – Inpatient- Surgery (Informatics Specialist)

Salary: 6,527.73 - $7,936.93/month 

San Joaquin General Hospital, an acute care teaching hospital in French Camp, CA, has an immediate opening for a Staff Nurse IV in the Peri-Operative Services Department. This position integrates the clinical sciences, computer science and information science to manage and communicate data, information and knowledge in a surgical setting. Typical duties include participating in designing, developing, building, evaluating, testing, and implementing surgical applications, tools, processes, and structures of clinical information and documentation while maintaining and providing on-going support of current applications in production. This position will also assist in leadership with clinical informatics options pertaining to the Electronic Medical Record, build and maintain resource maps, inventory, and documentation to meet changing workflow and troubleshoot computers and train staff on utilization of Peri-Operative charging and billing. 

Qualified applicants must have at least two years of progressively responsible experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting at a level equivalent to a San Joaquin County Staff Nurse III including one year in a surgery/operating room or have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Science, or a closely related field with at least one year experience in acute care setting at a Staff Nurse III level in surgery/operating room. This position also requires the possession of an ACLS certificate and that the candidate has current registration as a nurse in the State of California.  Must also be able to take standby and report to work within 30 minutes if called back. In addition, the ideal candidate should possess an Information System Management background with strong analytical experience.
